Question by shaney: Can I still substitute in California if I received a DUI in my past?
I haven’t applied for any new jobs in years because of my DUI conviction that I received 3 years ago. I have already passed the CBEST and just received my baccalaureate degree from a California State University. I am scheduling an appointment for the LiveScan, but I fear my DUI will not clear and I will not be able to receive my 30 day emergency permit. Have any CA subs experienced, or know someone who has experienced this? Any advice?

Were you convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor? Felonies are more likely to show up on your background check.
